# AI Minutes extraction

> AI Minutes extraction is a more flexible AI field than AI Minutes summary — it lets you write a prompt to pull exactly the info you need from DingTalk AI Minutes.

## Overview

**AI Minutes extraction** is a more flexible AI field than AI Minutes summary — write a prompt to pull exactly the info you need from **DingTalk AI Minutes**.

Unlike generic summaries, you can ask it to "list only the action items", "extract every budget figure mentioned", or "compile the specific customer requests".

### Add a field

In a grid view, add this field to enable custom extraction:

1. Click + on the right of the header.
2. Under **AI fields** in the dropdown, search for **AI Minutes extraction**.

### Configuration

The core of this field is the **AI prompt** — tell AI what to extract.

* **Pick the Minutes link to extract from**: pick an existing URL field (or create one) holding a **DingTalk AI Minutes** share link.
* **AI prompt**: describe your task in natural language. Examples:
  * "Extract every action item mentioned, with owner."
  * "List the customer's three main complaints about the product."
  * "Extract every city name mentioned in the meeting."
  * "Summarize the conclusion on the year-end bonus topic."

> Note: the more specific the prompt, the better AI's output.

### Tips

For better results, include the **extraction target** and **output format** in your prompt.

**Scenario 1 — project tracking**

> **Prompt**: extract every todo from the meeting in the format "task — owner — due date".

**Scenario 2 — sales debrief**

> **Prompt**: list the competitors the customer mentioned and their advantages over our product.

**Scenario 3 — interview**

> **Prompt**: extract the candidate's years of experience, salary expectation, and reason for leaving the last job.

### FAQ

* Q: How is this different from AI Minutes summary?

  A: **AI Minutes summary** generates a generic full-text summary you can't customize. **AI Minutes extraction** does exactly what your prompt asks — better for targeted data cleanup.
* Q: Can I reference other fields as part of the prompt?

  A: Yes. Click **Reference field** in the upper-right of the prompt input — you can drop another column's content into the prompt. For example, reference a "Focus" column to extract different things per record.
* Q: What if the info I want isn't mentioned in the meeting?

  A: AI judges from context. If nothing matches, it typically returns "Not mentioned" or leaves the cell blank — depends on your prompt constraints (e.g. "output `None` if absent").
* Q: Does this only work with DingTalk Minutes links?

  A: Yes. Only official DingTalk **AI Minutes** share links — other platforms aren't supported.
