# Text

> The AI Table Text field stores plain text.

The AI Table **Text** field stores plain text.

## Add a text field

1. Click + in the upper-right of the title bar.
2. Pick **Text**.

## Line break

While typing, press `Shift` + `Enter` to insert a line break.

## Show more text

Select a text cell — click the **expand** icon on the right to preview (or edit) long text.

In a grid view, adjust **row height** and **column width** to show more text.

**Row height**: click **Row height** on the toolbar — pick short / medium / tall / extra tall.

**Column width**: drag the divider on the right of the column header.

To resize multiple columns at once, hold `Shift`, click multiple column headers — then drag any selected column's divider; all selected columns share the new width.

## FAQ

* **Q: Can I paste images into a text field?**

  A: No. For mixed text + images, use [Table as doc](/aitable/fields/field-types/table-as-doc) instead.
* **Q: Can I paste links into a text field?**

  A: Yes.
