# Insert formatting elements

> Insert formatting elements in DingTalk Docs: add block quotes and dividers via the toolbar to create visual structure and clear section breaks, giving your document a polished, well-organized layout.

A document often features diverse formatting. Distinct formatting helps structure your document clearly and keeps the layout visually appealing.

## Instructions

Click **Insert > Quote** or **Insert > Divider** in the top navigation bar to add the corresponding formatting element to your document.

* Quote: applies a quoted-text style to the selected content.

* Divider: the toolbar above an inserted divider lets you choose its style.
