# Insert Link

> DingTalk Docs link insertion: select text and embed a hyperlink from the toolbar, choosing between inline link and card display styles. Helps readers quickly navigate to external resources or document anchor points.

Inserting links is a common practice when editing documents. It helps readers **quickly redirect** to a specified location, saving reading time. Inserting links also expands the scope of knowledge a document can carry, and is typically used for introducing notable figures or explaining proper nouns.

## Insert a link

Select the location or target text where you want to insert the link, then click **Link** on the document toolbar. If the font color of the selected location or target text turns blue, the link has been inserted successfully.

> To add a web link, click "Add web link" on the left to try out the Insert Link feature.

## Link settings

In the Insert Link dialog, you can **set the title** for the link and choose the **link style**: **Link or Card**.

## Cancel an inserted link

Click the location or text with the inserted link, then click **Remove Link** above.
