# Alternating colors

> DingTalk Sheets Alternating Colors applies row-by-row color schemes to a selected range with a single click. Choose from built-in palettes to make large data tables easier to read and visually polished without manual row-by-row formatting.

Stop worrying about color choices and palette combinations for your charts. DingTalk Spreadsheet lets you apply alternating colors with a single click, transforming dull tables into visually appealing ones. The fresh, natural row-by-row coloring offers smooth color transitions, making your spreadsheets clearer and more polished — instantly elevating their professional look.

## Apply alternating colors

1. Select the spreadsheet area you want to enhance.

2. Click **Toolbar -> the dropdown arrow next to the fill color icon -> Alternating colors**.

3. Choose a color scheme that fits your preference, use case, or subject. Click the desired option in the popup to apply it.

## Modify the filled area

1. A small handle appears at the bottom-right corner of the area filled with alternating colors.

2. Without selecting the area, simply hover your mouse over the handle. The cursor will change to a draggable style.

3. Drag horizontally or vertically to resize the filled area.

## Change or clear the color scheme

1. Select any part of the filled area.

2. Click **Toolbar -> the down arrow next to the fill color icon -> Alternating colors**, then choose another color scheme from the popup to change it.

3. Click No fill in the popup to remove the colors.

## Notes

1. Different alternating-color areas cannot overlap.

2. Alternating colors have a lower tier than colors you fill in manually. If you have already filled a cell area with a color, applying alternating colors will have no effect. Clear the existing fill color first, then apply alternating colors.
