# Can't Enable Local Sync?

> Can't turn on DingTalk Drive Local Sync? Check three things — enable it from the DingTalk desktop app, update your OS and DingTalk client to the latest version, and confirm your enterprise administrator allows you to use local sync.

<Tip>
  Local Sync is being gradually rolled out. Stay tuned for updates.
</Tip>

# 1. Enable local sync from the DingTalk desktop.

* Local sync supports two-way data sync between folders on your computer and folders in DingTalk Drive.

* On mobile, open DingTalk Drive to view the latest version of your files at any time.

# 2. Make sure your operating system and DingTalk desktop are updated to the latest version.

* **DingTalk desktop**: Version 8.2.0 or later (download from [**dingtalk.io**](https://www.dingtalk.io/download/))

* **Windows**: Windows 10 (64-bit), version 1709 or later

* **Mac**: Not yet available. Stay tuned for updates.

# 3. Make sure your enterprise administrator allows you to use local sync.

* Enterprise administrators can restrict which members can use local sync.

* In the Enterprise Admin Console, go to **Docs and Storage Management** > **Permissions and Security** > **Permission Settings** to configure who can use local sync.

* Members who are restricted will not see the **Enable Local Sync** option in DingTalk Drive.
