# Open Advanced Group Management Settings

> Open Group Management for advanced group controls, explore the available advanced settings, and configure granular group permission settings.

Group owners and admins can open **Group Management** to manage advanced group controls.

## Open Group Management

1. Open the group chat.

2. Click the gear icon in the upper-right corner.

3. Select **Group Management**.

## Advanced settings you can find

Group Management includes settings for admins, mute controls, member permissions, join permissions, group tools, and group-related features.

| Setting                                              | What it is used for                                    |
| ---------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Admin** / **Add**                                  | Add group admins.                                      |
| **Mute Settings**                                    | Open mute-related controls.                            |
| **Group permission settings**                        | Control who can use selected group features.           |
| **Group Quick Bar**                                  | Manage the group quick bar.                            |
| **Join group permission**                            | Manage how new members can join.                       |
| **How long can new members view their chat history** | Manage how much previous history new members can view. |
| **Group Calendar**                                   | Open group calendar settings.                          |
| **Group can receive mails**                          | Manage whether the group can receive mail.             |
| **Turn on automatic synchronization to Ding Drive**  | Manage automatic synchronization to Ding Drive.        |
| **Turn off Private Chat**                            | Manage private chat access from the group.             |
| **Transfer Group Ownership**                         | Transfer ownership to another member.                  |

## Group permission settings

Open **Group permission settings** when you need to control who can use specific group features.

Available permission entries include:

* **Who can @ Everyone**

* **Who can send DING in the group**

* **Who can put the group message on top**

* **Who can pin the group news**

* **Who can upload files, folders, and Ding Drive files?**

* **Who can initiate video and voice meetings in the group**
