# Custom Workbench Overview

> The Custom Workbench is built on the open capabilities of the DingTalk Workbench. Using its design and development capabilities, organizations can create exclusive layout designs and build custom developments within the workbench, turning the DingTalk Workbench into an organization-exclusive workbench and digital collaboration terminal that is tailored for every industry and every individual. This helps achieve goals such as corporate branding, culture promotion, and business operations. Organizations can fully customize many design elements—including layout, typography, and icons—according to their own needs.

## Introduction

The DingTalk Custom Workbench provides the following six major capabilities:

* **Unified Security**: Built and deployed on the DingTalk Workbench foundation to keep the workbench secure and controllable.
* **Unified Experience**: Follows the same strict component specifications as official DingTalk, and is based on the Mini Program framework to ensure a high-quality experience.
* **Unified Service**: Provides productized service capabilities to ensure service quality.
* **Tailored for Every Industry**: Leverages DingTalk's deep enterprise service capabilities to build professional, exclusive workbenches for industries such as education, government, film and television, Party building, e-commerce, and event management.
* **Tailored for Every Individual**: Based on DingTalk's organizational collaboration capabilities, users in different roles can be granted exclusive workbench page authorizations to enable business collaboration.
* **Ecosystem Online**: A rich ecosystem marketplace provides high-value workbench solutions and rapid component integration capabilities, truly bringing business online.

## Custom Workbench Editions

To meet customer needs, DingTalk offers two Custom Workbench editions: the Custom Workbench Professional Edition and the Custom Workbench Tailored Edition.

The two Custom Workbench editions differ in functionality as follows:
