# Add a bot to a group

> Describes the steps to add a bot to a group chat, covering prerequisites and the detailed procedure.

To add a bot to a group, follow the steps in this document.

## Prerequisites

1. Complete the [Configure an enterprise bot](/open/dingstart/configure-the-robot-application) process.
2. Complete the app publishing process.

## Procedure

1. Sign in to the DingTalk client-side and create a group chat:

   * If you already have a group chat, skip this step.
   * If you do not have a group chat, do the following:

     1. Click the "➕" icon in the upper-right corner and select New Chat.

     2. Click **Select Contact** and configure the group information.

        | **Item**           | **Description**                                                                                                                  |
        | ------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
        | Group name         | Enter the group name.                                                                                                            |
        | Group scenario     | Select Internal Group. **Note**: The group scenario must be Internal Group.                                                      |
        | Group organization | Must be consistent with the organization used in [Configure an enterprise bot](/open/dingstart/configure-the-robot-application). |

     3. Click Confirm to complete the group chat creation.

2. Enter the group chat and click the **Group settings** icon in the upper-right corner.

3. Click **Group Management** > **Bots** > **Add Bot**.

4. In the Enterprise bot list, select the bot that you configured and published in the prerequisites.

5. After selecting the bot to add, click Add > Complete.
