# Steps Overview

> Learn about the step types available in Integration & Automation, including data, manual, Chats, Card, branch, Connector, and script steps. These steps play a key role in an Approval process, but starting an Approval requires a workflow form.

The steps in Integration & Automation are largely the same as those in an Approval process. The difference is that Integration & Automation cannot start an Approval directly, because the Approval start step relies on a workflow form. This topic describes the steps available in Integration & Automation.
