1. Why can’t I view permissions or add collaborators?

  • Admins of Knowledge Bases, Folders, and individual documents or files can configure Who can add collaborators. If you do not meet this requirement, you cannot view permissions or add collaborators. Contact the admin to make changes.
  • Admins of individual documents, files, or folders can change this in Manage permissions - Permission configuration. Knowledge Base admins can change this in More settings - Security settings. For more details, see Document permission settings.

2. Why can’t I add external users?

External users may be restricted by the organization, the Knowledge Base, the folder, or the individual document or file. For details, see Who can share documents outside the organization.

3. Why can’t I copy content, create a copy, print, or download?

1) Legacy version of Permission configuration

  • Admins of Knowledge Bases, Folders, and individual documents or files can configure Who can copy, download, create a copy, or print. If you do not meet this requirement, you cannot copy, create a copy, add a copy to, print, download, save as template, or perform other copy- and download-related actions. Contact the admin to make changes.
  • Admins of individual documents, files, or folders can change this in Manage permissions - Permission configuration. Knowledge Base admins can change this in More settings - Security settings. For more details, see Document permission settings.

2) New version of Permission configuration

  • In the new version, Who can copy, view, create a copy, or print has been upgraded to Leak Prevention. If Leak Prevention is enabled on a Knowledge Base, folder, or individual document, certain users will be restricted from copying, creating a copy, adding a copy to, printing, downloading, saving as template, and other copy- and download-related actions, based on the specific Leak Prevention settings. Contact the admin to make changes.
  • Admins of individual documents, files, or folders can change this in Manage permissions - Permission configuration. Knowledge Base admins can change this in More settings - Security settings. For more details, see What is Leak Prevention for documents?

4. Why can’t I comment on a document?

  • Admins of Knowledge Bases, Folders, and individual documents or files can configure Who can comment. If you do not meet this requirement, you cannot comment on the document. Contact the admin to make changes.
  • Admins of individual documents, files, or folders can change this in Manage permissions - Permission configuration. Knowledge Base admins can change this in More settings - Security settings. For more details, see Document permission settings.
