When a meeting is started from a group, DingTalk automatically uses the group nickname. When a meeting is scheduled or started from the meeting entry, DingTalk automatically uses the name from the user’s primary organization. After you rename yourself during a meeting, the new name remains even if you leave and rejoin. It is also used automatically when you start a meeting again from history or calendar, so one rename can continue to take effect.

Automatic Naming When Joining

  1. If a meeting is started directly from a group, your group nickname is automatically used as your participant name.
  2. If a meeting is started from a scheduled meeting or meeting entry, your name in the primary organization is automatically used as your participant name.
