1. What is a prompt

A prompt can be understood as an instruction given to an AI model when using the AI assistant. A prompt can be a question, a piece of text, or even a text description with a set of parameters. By providing a specific prompt or question, you can guide the AI model to generate more accurate text, images, or tables. For example, if you want the AI model to generate an article about healthy eating, you can provide questions or keywords such as: What is healthy eating? Which foods are healthy? How can I maintain healthy eating habits? The AI model then analyzes and interprets these questions to produce a detailed article covering the importance of healthy eating, its components, and recommendations. In addition, you can supply specific images or tables so that the AI model generates related content, presenting your information in a more vivid and engaging way.

Prompt engineering, abbreviated as PE, is defined as follows:

3. Why learn to master prompts?

If you just want a simple answer, you can simply type text into the AI assistant. But to get satisfying and precise answers, you need to use PE techniques.

4. Basic usage of prompts

In DingTalk Docs, after you enable the AI assistant, simply enter a question or instruction in the input box. The AI assistant returns the corresponding content based on your instruction. When chatting with the AI assistant, the following principles and suggestions can help you write better prompts.

Include complete and detailed information in the prompt

This is the factor that most influences the results generated by the AI assistant. For example, suppose you want the AI assistant to write a poem about Hangzhou. Prompt: Write a poem about Hangzhou. Prompt: Write a poem about autumn in Hangzhou, including landmarks such as West Lake and Mount Mogan.

Keep prompts concise, clear, and unambiguous

Short, simple sentences make it easier for the AI assistant to understand your request. You should also reduce ambiguity in your prompts and avoid vague wording. Suggest a few titles for a lemon tea beverage. Just a few — not too many. Act as a product marketer. You need to promote a lemon tea beverage. Suggest 8 titles, each within 15 characters. Note that concise does not mean short. For prompts of the same length, the more fully you describe your needs, the closer the content and answers generated by the AI assistant will be to your desired result.
