Xinpeng, Senior Developer: Knowledge Base is an extremely agile document management tool. It greatly improves collaboration efficiency with engineering and product teams, while preserving development insights in their original form.

Background

During development, the engineering team has a large number of To-Do tasks to track and complete every day. Execution details that require constant alignment with the product team also need to be shared with the team. When typical technical issues are resolved, development insights must be preserved and shared with other team members. All of this requires a document management tool that supports diverse formats and is easy to use.

Pain points

  1. The development team has many To-Do tasks whose progress needs to be made visible every day. Group announcements were tried, but they do not support inserting content such as tables or videos, resulting in a poor experience.
  2. During development, large volumes of communication messages with product designers need to be converted into actionable tasks. Group Chat records are easily buried by new Chat History, making them hard to retrieve, and forwarding across groups is even more cumbersome.
  3. Technical insights from the development process need a dedicated place to accumulate. The previous storage locations were inconsistent. Every new team member had to request various permissions, which was inconvenient. When team membership changed, access permissions were not updated in a timely manner.

After adopting DingTalk Knowledge Base

  1. Use Knowledge Base to publish the daily task list. It supports inserting content in multiple formats, making task completion progress clear at a glance.
  2. Record discussion alignment details in Knowledge Base. Mention relevant Users with @ to automatically send viewing reminders, eliminating the need to search through Chat History.
  3. Centralize development insights in one place. Day by day, build a treasure trove of team knowledge. New members joining the group are automatically authorized, enabling self-learning mode in one step.
