Premium Steps - DingTalk Help Center

Premium workflows offer several Steps that are not available in Basic workflows. Building on Basic workflows, they extend functionality and enable features such as Custom executor rules and Completion strategies. The following Steps are available:

Step name	Purpose
Start Step	The initiating step in Premium workflow design. When a workflow starts, formula validation or Association actions may run alongside it. The step’s Submit rules use formulas to validate whether a user can perform the action when submitting a workflow or when an approver processes it.
Manual Step	Supports Custom approver rules based on your specific requirements.
Automatic Step	Primarily used to invoke a callback through a third-party service. Register the third-party service first, then select it from the third-party service list.
Branch Step	Premium workflows support Branch Step configuration. When the workflow reaches a Branch Step, the rules configured on the step determine which branch to take next, producing an if…then… conditional effect.
Aggregation Step	Use an Aggregation Step when a workflow contains multiple parallel branches and all of them must complete before it can continue. The overall workflow only continues after every step on the incoming lines of the Aggregation Step finishes executing, creating a wait effect.
CC Step	Use this step when, after an Approval process starts, the relevant users need to view or be notified of the Approval form without having to approve it.
End Step	Marks the terminus of the entire workflow. A properly configured workflow should progress step by step and eventually reach this step, indicating that the workflow has ended.
